You know, I just realized something while writing this fic, a very scary thing. Just because you 'need' someone or want to be with someone doesn't mean you love them. And in a sad way, I think I can sort of relate to that fact.

Most of us assume that when Hisoka said 'those' words to Tsuzuki, we all thought Hisoka said them because he loved him. But what if that's not the case?

So hence, this small little AU monster I came up with. Um, I guess you could say this is an AU of HtH, but gone wrong. Because it has a similar situation in it, but it takes a different direction.

Please be warned, this is one of those stories with 'no fluff in sight'. Will there be a sequel? Perhaps... >.> Just have a tissue handy, this sort of got me weepy near the end.

Comments: Originally, this fic was supposed to be a prequel to 'Temptation', but it sort of morphed from it and changed direction, so I rewrote a bit and changed the fic to be something else. Half of it was written in school.

The point of this fic... well, a lot of people write about how well Hisoka knows Tsuzuki. I know I have. But does Hisoka really know Tsuzuki outside of work? Do they really know each other as well as they like to think?

Hence, thinking like that, this fic was born. I know, I said I wouldn't write anything for a while and like a few weeks later, something comes. @_@;; But I think this is one of the first times I felt inspired and had time, so...

The ending seems like there's no real resolution. It's short and might be revised later on, but...

I realized that it's been nearly a year now since I first wrote and finished my first Yami no Matsuei fic, specifically, a Tsusoka fic (I'm not counting 'Through the Darkness'. I just realized that fic is plagued by fangirl japanese. Eeee... O_o;; I think I might re-write the entire thing. :/). It's been a whole year since I started writing for Yami no Matsuei.

I think someone called this fic lame and cheesy a while back. >.> Now that I look back, I'd probably agree with them, that this is sort of cheesy.

Comments: This fanfic was one of the hardest fanfics I had to write. Part 1 and 2 came naturally, part 3 was much harder to write than I thought. Not to mention I honestly have no talent when it comes to lemon writing, but not putting in a lemon would probably disappoint many readers, not to mention that the way the story was flowing, it's impossible that sex wouldn't come up in their relationship.

The fic was to take a very different approach on Tsuzuki and Hisoka's relationship that most fanfics don't go to. It's a slow process of Hisoka realizing what sort of love he feels towards Tsuzuki that comes through a few mini-scenes that try to cover and destroy the barriers that these two have put around themselves.

The story itself, really, has no plot. If you're looking for a case fic, you probably should look elsewhere. While there is a small case in the story itself, it plays no major role. You won't see a lot of the other characters as well. Although they play minor roles, the focus is the characterization and changes of Tsuzuki and Hisoka. Hisoka is the main focus of this story and how he changes and discovers 'his answer' over the course of one year.

Oh, I forgot the explaination of the title. :P 'Heart to Heart' is a song from Star Ocean EX, and the translation can be found here. It was an inspiration to this piece and I think the song suits this fanfic well.

I'm not giving a warning to something, as it will spoil the entire story, but be warned, I gave this an angst genre really only for a reason. This depressed ME after writing it. X_x;; I got the idea in my head today and decided it would make a perfect ending to both fics. And since I'm in a depressed mood, yeah, this fits perfectly.
